Type of cataract
There are several types of cataract:
- Cataracts occurring in the middle of the lens (nucleus cataract): These types of cataracts often cause long term blindness. With time it gets worse and the bed becomes denser and turns yellow.
- Cataract occurring at the edge of the lens (cortical cataract): This type of cataract begins with the whiteness occurring at the edge of the lens. With time, the whiteness will spread to the center of happiness and distort the vision
- Cataracts in newborns (congenital cataract): Some babies are born with cataract problems. It is usually caused by a germ infection during pregnancy such as Rubella infection. Infection of the rubella virus in the mother during pregnancy is one of the reasons for this problem in newborns. It also causes other problems such as heart problems for the baby.
