What is Glaucoma?
Glaucoma is the damage of the optic nerve due to increased pressure in the eye, also known as intraocular pressure (IOP) or reduced blood supply to the optic nerve. There isn’t a replacement for optic nerve.
Glaucoma is also known as the silent thief of sight because in most cases patients do not experience any pain or notice any loss of vision until severe damage to the optic disc take place. The loss of vision is irreversible.
